Sanctified By God, Preserved In Christ

1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: (Jude 1:1)

Jude writes to them that are sanctified.  Sanctification is to be set apart.  It means to be made holy.  It is to be consecrated.  It means being separated.  Some will say that it is not necessary to be separated.  Some will say that we must be all inclusive.  Some will say that we should accept anything and everything and allow it to violate God’s people who have been set aside.  The Bible says we are to be sanctified.  We are to be separated.  We are to be holy.  We have been called out of darkness into God’s marvelous light.  I agree that God is no respecter of persons and that all are called.  All are called to be set apart.  All are called to become holy.  All are called to separate ourself from the world.  It is the working of the Spirit of God in us that will separate us and sanctify us.  We are cleansed by God.  We are renewed by God.  We are remade by God.  We are reborn in Christ.  With this new birth, we can live a new life.  A life of sanctification.  When we are sanctified by God, we are preserved in Christ Jesus.  What does it mean to be preserved.  We are kept safe.  We are placed in a special place where nothing can harm us.  When a mother makes preservatives, she places the lid tightly on the jar so that none of the impurities of the air will contaminate the contents.  When we are preserved, God keeps us in His special care by the working of the Holy Spirit where we cannot be contaminated by the world.  We are kept until the day of redemption.  Hallelujah.  And when Jesus gets ready He will remove the lid and call His preserved children to Himself.  What a sweet savour we will be to our Lord and Savior.
