Difficulties Of Life Replaced By Peace With Christ

13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Revelation 7:13-14)

What a scene.  How often do we sing about these 24 elders that will be sitting around the throne of God.  How often we sing but really never visualize the reality of what our future holds.    These 24 elders were introduced to us in the 4th verse of the 4th chapter of Revelation.  In the 10th and 11th verse of that same chapter, we are told the reason why they were created.  It was simply for God’s pleasure.  They were created to worship him.  We too are created for God’s pleasure.  We were created to give Him praise and to serve Him.  He is worthy to receive honour and glory.  In this 7th chapter, there are four angels holding back hurt from the earth until those who are servants of God have been sealed.  Hallelujah.  There were 144 thousand people from Israel that were sealed.  Then there were another number which were so large that no man could count.  Hallelujah.  These all had on white robes with palm branches in their hands and stood before the throne of God.  They were from every nation, tongue, kindred and people.  They were from America, England, Africa, Iraq, Iran, Germany, Rome, Canada, India, and every other place.  One of the elders asked John, who are these clothed in white robes and where did they come from.  Then the elder answered the question by saying that these are they which have come out of great tribulation.  In other words, these are they which have struggled for the sake of the cross.  These are they that have made great sacrifices in the world.  These are they which have suffered persecution for the sake of Christ.  These are they which have put serving the Lord first and foremost in their life.  The angel went on to say they have washed their robes in the blood of the lamb and made them white and therefore do stand before the throne of God and serve him day and night.  What can wash away my sin?  Nothing but the blood of Jesus.  What can make me whole again?  Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
