Doing What Pleases God Builds Confidence

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.  And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.  (1 John 3:21-22)

If you have ever known someone who plays sports, you will find that the more they play the game, the better they become.  The more they practice on performing a certain feat, the more confidence they have.  This is true with our Christian walk.  As we live with a true heart to God, we have confidence and boldness before Him.  We can come before Him with the boldness of an obedient child.  We can ask of our Father what we want and He will give it to us.  But keep in mind that it begins with obedience.  It begins with obeying his commandments.  It begins with being obedient to His word.  So many Christians want to demand God’s blessings while ignoring his commandments.  It doesn’t work that way.  For the Word says we can ask and receive of Him because we keep his commandments.  Began to practice on obedience.  As we become obedient, it will build our confidence to come before Christ with boldness.  We can come with boldness because we know that we are doing the things that pleases Him.
