Love Is a Verb, Its What You DO

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. (1st John 3:18)

Love is a verb.  It is sometimes used as an adjective or a noun.  But here, it is used as a verb.  It is not what you say or how you feel.  It is an action word.  Love is what we do.  Many years ago, a popular song was sang throughout America.  What the world needs now is love, sweet love.  It’s the only thing that there is just too little of.  The world is still in need of love.  Pure love.  Undefiled love.  Unrestrained love.  Love that bears all things.  Love that is kind.  Love that does not envy.  Love that is not easily provoked.  Love that does not think about evil.  There is an over-abundance of people in our midst who talk about love.  But talking is not doing.  Love must be shown in our actions.  It is what we do.
