Our Mediator and Abitrator

In his love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:10)

What a wonderful scripture we have for today’s word.  Not that one scripture is better than the other for every word from the mouth of God is good.  However, I feel a special relationship when I read about our mediator, our arbitrator, our atonement, our propitiator.  Knowing that even when it seems that I am all alone when no one understands, I know that Christ is with me.  He speaks to God on my behalf.  He stands up for me when I can’t stand up for myself.  If only we would truly understand the meaning of what it means to have Christ stand for us.  It is then and only then are we able to stand.  Our righteousness is not enough to get us by.  Our righteousness is not enough to bypass God’s wrath.  It is only by the righteousness of Christ that we can miss the pits of hell and the sting of death.  Finally, know this.  God does not place us in a place of His perfect will and then leave us to fend for ourselves.  God loves us so that he allowed His Son to stand in our place.  And now he speaks on our behalf.  Who can be against us as long as God is with us.  Praise be to God.  Nothing shall separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
