Thanksgiving And Prayer

Happy Thanksgiving To All

3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,  4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,  5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;  6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:  (Colossians 1:3-6)

Thanksgiving to God is always in order.  When one realize that it is God that works in our lives and directs His Holy Spirit, and that it is the Holy Spirit that will give men understanding and faith, we thank God even the more.  Faithfulness can be seen in works.  James says show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works.  It is apparent that Paul was able to see the faith of the Colossians by their works.  For he declares that the gospel is bringing forth fruit.  This fruit is a changed life and a changed attitude.  So often Christians like to show their faith not by works but rather by words.  It is not what you say that show faith, but rather it is what you do.  Can someone in your life who knows you personally thank God in their prayers for your faith?  You can begin by showing the love that you have for all saints.  Love is an action word.  As you pray, give God thanks for those who show their faith by their love.
