Either Pray Or Worry, But Don’t Do Both

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:6-7)

Make up your mind today that you are going to either pray or worry.  Don’t do both.  If you pray, don’t worry.  If you worry, pray more and stop worrying.   If you have to worry, pray that God will remove the doubt and fear that cause worry.  A Christian who prays and doubts is like a wave on the sea going back and forth and as one who is not stable.  Know that God is able not only to hear our prayers but also to answer our prayer and to deliver us from our distress.  He will be there when you need Him.  He will come to our rescue.  While you are yet calling on Him, He will answer.  Comfort your hearts in knowing that He is our Father, Abba, who will not let our requests go unanswered.  Don’t be anxious but pray.  Don’t be worried but pray.  Don’t be troubled but pray.  Take your hands off that situation and turn it over to the Lord.  Leave all your burdens with Him.  He cares for us.  When you leave it with Him, He will comfort your hearts and keep your mind.
