We Are Citizens Of Heaven

19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)  20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:  (Philippians 3:19-20)

Conversation in verse 20 can be translated to read homeland, place of residence, or as many Bible translations have it “citizenship”.  Therefore it can be read, our homeland is in heaven.  Our rightful place of residence is in heaven.  Our citizenship is in heaven.  When you are a citizen of the United States, you are mostly focused on things of interest to the United States.  When you are a citizen of Europe, you are mostly focused on things of interest to Europe.  When you are a citizen of the world, you are mostly focused on things of interest to the world.  (earthly things, material things, things that will satisfy the body, things that will satisfy the belly, things that will cater to the physical, things that will cater to the carnal).  When you are a citizen of heaven, you are mostly focused on things of interest to heaven.  (spiritual things, things that are important to spiritual growth, things that Christ was focused on, things that are of concern to the heavenly realm, things that we can present to Christ when he returns.)  Where is your citizenship?  In the world or in heaven?
