Sow To Reap Eternal Life

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  (Galatians 6:8)

To sow means to plant.  We can decide to either spend time sowing or planting things more focused on our flesh or more focused on the Spirit.  The previous verse gives a strong warning.  First it says God is not mocked.  Then it goes on to say that whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  If one sows to the flesh, he shall of the flesh reap corruption.  If his primary focus is fleshly matters, he will receive a fleshly reward.  If one spends his money, time and talents to indulge the flesh, when the produce comes from his sowing, it will be corruption.  Notice it says “his” flesh”.  That means selfishness.  But when it comes to sowing to the spirit the writer states “the Spirit”.  He does not say his spirit.  ”The Spirit” refers to the Spirit of God.  He that spends his time, talent and treasure and becomes dedicated and focused on sowing to the Spirit, shall reap eternal life.  The choice belongs to us.
