Gently Restore Those Overtaken

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.  2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.  (Galatians 6:1-2)

Sometimes Christians can be too dogmatic (inflexible and rigid) towards those who has fallen into a sinful lifestyle.  This does not mean that Christians should not stand on the Word of God.  If one is to be restored into the proper relationship with God, we must be gentle as we seek to bring him back into that right relationship.  Consider how you would feel if you were in the same situation.  This passage does not specify a particular sin but just says a  fault or a sin whatever it may be.  It could be a sin that we are immune to or one that we have been struggling with as well.  Christians must seek to restore others with love and meekness.  When you go to a brother or sister in this light, they will willingly receive you and will likely be restored.  When you seek them out and commune with them in kindness, then you are helping them bear their burden.  That is when you are abiding by the law of Christ.  The law of Christ is the law of ministry, love and reconciliation.
