A Spiritual Walk Denies The Lust Of The Flesh

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  (Galatians 5:16-18)

All of us have a fleshly human nature.  In other words, we  would all like to fulfill the desires or the lust of the flesh.  It could be a material desire or lust, an emotional desire or lust, a  sexual desire or lust, a desire or lust to be popular, or many others.  Since we have a human nature, we have a desire to satisfy it’s wants.  But when one walks a spiritual walk, he will not give in to these lusts.  The lust or desire shall remain but they will not be fulfilled because he is walking a spiritual walk.  When the Bible uses this term “walk”, in many instances such as this one, it is actually talking about a lifestyle or the way one lives or one’s behavior.   Your lifestyle is seeking to please God even though you have to fight against the lusts of the flesh on a daily basis.  Every time you try to do right, evil is always seeking to get you to do wrong.  But if you live a spiritual life and if your walk or lifestyle is spiritual, you will deny yourself the desires or lust of the flesh knowing that you cannot walk a spiritual walk and carnal walk at the same time.
