The Law Leads To The Promise Of Christ Jesus

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.  24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.  25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.  (Galatians 3:23-25)

I once was lost in sin, but Jesus took me in.  Before faith in Christ, the world was under the law.  The law could not save us, but rather, it just shows us our wrong.  If one goes to court for breaking the law, the law does not save him.  The law shows no mercy.  The law just lets everyone know what was done wrong.  The judge will make his decision and punishment according to the law.  But unlike our court system, our religious system allows for a substitute.  Our substitute is Jesus Christ.  When we have faith in Christ, we are no longer under the law but we are under grace.  The law condemns us as guilty.  But Jesus justifies us as righteous.  The penalty for my sins has already been paid.  The law points us to Christ.  I am grateful that Jesus took me in, filled my heart with love and wrote my name above.
