Revealing The Life Of Christ

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.  (II Corinthians 4:10)

In verse 8 and 9 of this chapter, there are four paradoxes.  They speak of being troubled but not distressed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed.  As we consider these four paradoxes, we must also consider the implied paradox in verse 10.  For as we bear (or carry) about the Lord’s death, we should also carry about His life.  His death was one of sorrow.  His life was one of service.  His death was one of commitment.  His life was one of compassion.  His death was one of long-suffering.  His life was one of love.  You can show the life and death of Christ in your living.  In our living, we die to self.  But we live to serve.  The life of Christ is revealed in us by our commitment, by our compassion, by our longsuffering and by our love.
