Seeking Good For Others

Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.  (I Corinthians 10:24)

This text goes right in line with loving your neighbor as yourself.  If you love your neighbor as yourself, you will do all you can to seek his good.  So many are governed by self motivation and self-seeking motives that we don’t concern ourselves with helping others.  I might go so far as to say that some even get angry when others are blessed.  Jealousy.  Envy.  Strife.  These are words that should be eliminated from the Christian’s prospective.  However, they remain because their attitudes remain.  Ask yourself a question.  What have I done lately to seek someone else’s good?  To help someone else prosper without having an ulterior motive?  I do not refer to giving someone two dollars on the street.  I am talking about really giving of yourself to help someone else prosper in their life.  We must be less concerned about ourselves and more concerned about others.  Seek good for others.  That is Christ’s way.
