Develop Older Women

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; (Titus 2:2-3)

It was imperative that when verse three is read, it is read in context with verse two. Paul speaks of the older or aged women in verse 3. However, he uses the term “likewise”. Likewise meaning what I spoken with you about developing the aged or older men, likewise you should develop the older or mature women. The older women should exemplify behavior that exhibits an attitude of holiness. That is not to say that everytime you see them they should have a Bible under their arms. This speaks more to their attitude. They should be about doing good. They should be about kindness. They should not be gossipers or slanderers. They should not be backbiters. They should teach good things. Many younger Christians learn not by what you say but by what you do. If you say one thing but exhibit another, they will see that you are all talk and no action. Titus has a responsibility to develop the older women. The older women has a responsibility to be developed into the mature woman that God is seeking.
