The Spirit Dwells With You

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  (John 14:16-17)

Jesus prayed to the Father, His Father, that he might send us another Comforter.  This Comforter will be with us.  As Jesus is making preparation to leave those he has trained for the work of ministry, He lets his disciples know that He has prayed to His Father that He might send a replacement.  Not to replace Him, but a replacement to be with us.  One who will comfort us.  One who will console us.  One who will calm our fears.  One who will make us secure.  One who will relieve heavy burdens.  One who will teach us.  In this world in which we live, you will have pressures, burdens, trials, tribulations and hardships.  The comforter will relieve the burden.  He may not guide you around the pressure but rather he will comfort you in the midst of the pressure.  He will help you through the trials.  He will strengthen you during tribulations.  He will be with you during hardships.  Thank God for the presence of the precious Holy Spirit.
